Stinky Leaf Pile Cleanup Service

Stops stinky leaf piles from accumulating around the world.

With Seasons, leaf piles are generated around the world during fall. These leaf piles might not be removed when the seasons change, and then become stinky and make the local environment unpleasant.

Over time, multiple leaf piles generate stacked on top of each other and the only way to get rid of them is having your sims manually burn them. This can cause additional issues if the area of the world has no trash cans to throw away the ash piles left behind by burnt leaf piles.

Add stinky leaf piles to the game’s built-in cleanup service. Each night, the game runs a cleanup service that removes things like trash and spoiled food from public areas. This mod adds stinky rotten leaf piles to the items needed to be removed.

  • Affects Seasons expansion pack users.
  • The official bug report thread can be found at EA Answers HQ:
Leaf piles/Ashes don’t disappear. If you encounter this bug, visit the bug thread and click “me too” to increase its importance.
  • This mod rewrites the game’s cleanup service module, and will conflict with any other mod that overrides the same resource (services.cleanup_service 03B33DDF-00000000-A5989172C9C973FE).

This bug is listed as fixed in the patch notes for game update (5 February 2019), so this mod is no longer required.

With the latest game update, leaf piles should be removed at the start of the winter season. If you’re halfway through winter, you’ll need to cycle through all the seasons for the game to remove them. Or you can use this mod, which will clean them up within an in-game day, and then once they’re gone you can remove the mod.

Download the ZIP file containing the mod. Open the ZIP file and take the package file out, placing it into your Mods folder for The Sims 4, found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.
